Description: Immunocompromise is complex and is caused by medications and disease states. It can affect individuals' susceptibility to vaccine preventable diseases, so individuals with immunocompromise need additional vaccines to offer protection. However, immunocompromise can also limit efficacy of vaccines or be a contraindication to vaccines. Many vaccinators get overwhelmed and confused by the complex vaccine recommendations. This session is intended to provide added clarity for defining immunocompromise and identifying indications and contraindications for vaccination in the immunocompromised population.
